For the anglers we offer some of the best fishing in the north west right out our back door. The Lewiston and Clarkston valley is positioned at the confluence of the CLearwater and the wild Snake Rivers. Fishing for Steal Head and Salmon is a ritual with some record catches caught right here in town! If you have ever wanted to catch a sturgeon we have them too and if you you are looking to get away we boast some great fishing holes in any direction.

No matter what outdoor sport you are into we have what you are looking for! With class 4 rapids along the Snake and Salmon Rivers and great river camp sites just an hour away, you will find our rivers a great escape from the hot summer heat.

Wayside commemorates the Nimiipuu legend site “Meeting of the Waters” where the Snake and Clearwater Rivers join. Site includes a bronze sculpture entitled “Meeting of the Waters” and interpretive signs, a U.S. Geodetic Survey marker showing the Lewis and Clark Trail, and a small boat ramp. Extensive recreational trails on the Levee National Recreational Trail are on the Clearwater River side of the site. A pedestrian bridge links these features to a parking area, restrooms, and ISHS Marker just off D Street. Access to the wayside is restricted.

The Lewiston Levee Parkway Trail, part of the Clearwater and Snake River National Recreation Trail, starts at the entrance to the day-use area in Hells Gate State Park in Lewiston and descends the Snake River on the Idaho side, then turns and runs up the Clearwater River on the levee to Locomotive Park.
