Miami Apartments for rent - City Guide

Miami has many aspects to it. Many think of it as a party paradise with its beautiful beaches, fine dining, nightlife and shopping. Others see it as a unique bridge between Latin American culture, business, and entrepreneurs and that of the United States. Then others view it and its communities as a place to settle down within its rich, natural jungle-like environment, abundance of golf courses, and easy access to long walks on the beach.

Historically, the main economic driver has been tourism, and while tourism does still reign as the city’s major money-maker, the business sector has diversified. The city’s geographic location makes it a logical player for trading and business interaction with South America. Also, the region has the largest concentration of international banks in the country. Some of the largest businesses that are headquartered in the area are Lennar Corporation, Carnival Corporation, World Fuel Services, and Ryder Corporation.

Over the last several years, the region has also seen a surge of startups. With a healthy dose of investor groups such as Accelerated Growth Partners and organizations such as the Knight Foundation that have worked to create the local startup scene, coworker offices and accelerators have sprouted up all over the city such as the Venture Hive and meet up events, and the strong geographical and cultural link to the Latin America world, there is lots of untapped potential.

For young professionals looking for an upbeat area, Brickell is a great destination. Considered the “Manhattan of the South,” Brickell has an outstanding skyline and is home to the largest concentration of international banks in the United States. Brickell is perfect for those wanting to be in the city’s wealthiest urban environment. Of course, there is Brickell Key, a gated island located between Brickell and downtown. If you are looking for upscale apartment living, this is the place to look for luxury apartments and condos. The high-rise apartment towers offer beautiful views of the bay and the location is ideal for those wanting to be close to the best of the city’s entertainment. With unique city events such as the Taste of Brickell Wine and Food Festival, there is always something going on.

Coconut Grove has a quaint village center laden with boutiques, bars and restaurants to stroll through. Also, the city has several parks in the area such as Peacock Park, The Barnacle Historic State Park, and Kennedy Park. Coconut Grove has unique horticulture that is lush, pervasive, and gives its neighborhoods a subtropical jungle feel. Coconut Grove’s schools have received many good ratings from residents and cement the area’s great reputation as a family-oriented community. Apartment searching in Coconut Grove will yield a variety of options from townhouses to studio apartments. Compared to most of the region, Coconut Grove is a bit pricier, but the quality of the community is definitely worth it.

For those looking for a suburban area that is safe, residential, and distant from the big tourist side, Doral is worth checking out. Doral was ranked by Fortune and CNN Money as one best cities to live in due its unique mix of business advantages and lifestyle opportunities. Known as a hotspot for small businesses and entrepreneurs usually surrounding aerospace and logistics, Doral has one of the nation’s highest concentrations of small businesses per capita. Also, with access to some of the best golfing in the area, Doral has a strong business culture. Not only that, the neighborhoods in Doral are safe and the schools such as Doral Academy Charter High School and Doral Middle School have received great ratings. Finding apartments with all bills paid or homes for rent in Doral is pretty easy due to so many options, and compared to nearby urban areas, is generally less expensive.

If you are looking for an area to be immersed in all of the never-ending summer image, check out Miami Beach. This barrier island runs along the coast, right next to downtown. It has two main communities: North Beach and South Beach. You’ll find more residential areas in North Beach and a more relaxing atmosphere since South Beach is generally the vacation destination for tourists looking to experience tropical beaches, nightlife and art Deco buildings, museums, and monuments. Definitely check out Joe’s Stone Crab, MacaLusco’s, or My Ceviche for some of the best food in town. If you are looking for houses to rent, check out North Beach and if you prefer high-rise luxury apartments for rent, check out South Beach. Most of the area is on the pricier side, however, if you use the right apartment guide. you can find cheap apartments scattered throughout the island. There are certainly lots of good options for apartments in Miami.

Coral Gables is also a community worth checking out. Unique for its impressive Mediterranean Revival architecture and continual drive to maintain this adherence to style, Coral Gables is one of the most beautiful communities in the area. Also, with 30% of its land dedicated to green space, two golf courses, several pet-friendly parks, and canals leading to the ocean that are large enough for boats, Coral Gables maintains a very high level of devotion to maintaining its beautiful community. Also, with the University right in the center of Coral Gables, many students find their way to the town. Thus, although many of the houses for rent are inhabited by settled down families, there are plenty of apartments with all utilities included in the area for students.

Lived here for 2 years

I lived in the Met One building at the southern end of Biscayne Boulevard and really enjoyed the area. Farther north, there are some shady areas, but this location is great and safe. Beautiful views of the Miami River and Biscayne Bay, easy access to I-75 and Brickell is just across the bridge. Quick walk up to the AA Arena and very simple to get on I-395 to get over to South Beach
