We traveled as a couple to the Aguamar early July. On arrival we found the place to be bright, modern and clean. Check in was smooth and we found our apartment on the road side of the hotel on the 4th floor. Reception have a broad range of services of which we explored very little but they are helpful and can organise trips for you, there is a folder with trips on reception, tons of other stuff, just no room service as one guest expected.

There is an interactive touch screen display in reception which has all the info, history and advise you will need.

The apartment was clean and modern just like the reception with full kitchen facilities. The laminate floor was a bit worn. Table with four chairs, sofa bed, arm chair 32 telly. table with 3 chairs on the balcony.

The bathroom was again modern and the shower over bath was powerful but despite a flimsy looking curtain it didn't flood the floor or stick to you when in use,

Beds were a bit hard but two pillows and clean sheets made up for that bit. Plenty of wardrobe space and a chest of drawers.

Maids were very cheerful and in 5 days out of 7 changing towels and sheets. We had a small problem with very small ant like crawleys that the maids sorted out no problem.

Safety boxes are available but they are downstairs behind reception. not a problem but not very convenient.

We stopped on a bed and breakfast deal which was perfectly adequate. We had no need to seek breakfast anywhere else despite every bar and restaurant around offering mouth watering offerings..

Our room backed onto the main road which is a bus route and sound proofing is not good. Thing is we live on a main road anyway so it wasnt a problem for us. I read some reviews that moaned on about this but it didnt affect us, if you live in a cul de sac maybe you need a room round the side away from the road..

The pool was lively with family's with kids during the day and theres plenty of sunbeds for everyone. The early reservation goes on even though its not supposed too. Anyway, going down at 3pm we found beds no problem. If you want a mattress or parasol they charge for them..

Our only gripes, and these are minor, were the cleaning of the rooms was basic, we had long black hair all over the floor and bathroom that we cleaned up ourself but we left a patch in the room which didn't go the whole week. The cleaner uses a dry mop on the laminate which just moves the dry stuff around.

There are pigeons around that will happily sit on your table and let you hand feed them, they then leave 'deposits, on your table and balcony rail as a thank you. Disgusting in my mind!

The other thing is wifi, I dont understand the need for a comprehensive menu of prices for wifi. If the hotel have gone to the trouble of installing wifi throughout they should provide it free of charge to guests!!

The hotel is a long way from the beach but there are some very nice eating and drinking places very close by. the bus staion is just round the corner and you can go all over the island from there. A return to Santa Cruz cost 32euro (for two)

There are plenty of bars, restaurants and take aways plus a large supermarket within 5 minutes walk.
