Location, location, location.

Located in the very heart of Lisbon, our parish prides itself on being an "aldeia" -- a village -- hidden in the city center. You are never more than an 8 minute walk to the Rossio (Lisbon's buzzing main plaza) but, when at home, you'll fall naturally into the quiet simplicities of typical Portuguese life.

Here's the way our inspector for Sawday's Special Places to Stay describes us:

"A brilliant opportunity to live as a Lisboeta in a real Portuguese neighbourhood.
You are free from tourists up here (except for those who meander up the wrong hill looking for the castle.)"

The city of Lisbon offers something for everyone. No matter what your interests--history, art, science, sports. or pure relaxation--you'll find an activity to suit your tastes. So we try to make sure our vacation apartments and holiday rentals are flexible enough to accomodate all kinds of guests:

• Casa Santana and Casa Travessa are a perfect base for relaxing and seeing the city on your own, but they work equally well for romantic getaways as a couple;

Groups of friends--adults travelling together with or without kids--will find space to be alone, as well as together, at Casa P�tria. Casa Joaquina or Casa Villa Serra ;

For families with young children, Casa Joaquina and Casa Villa Serra provide plenty of room for the kids to relax (including an outdoor terrace), games and books for the whole family, child-friendly amenities. and a kitchen & dining area for easy meals at home. Casa P�tria has the same glorious space, but its biggest draw--the dramatic, open architecture--means it's not reccommended for children under 7. And while Casaa Santana and Casa Travessa are smaller, they're also a great value and just a few steps from the center of Lisbon, which can be helpful if you have one or two sets of little legs that want to walk on their own. or be carried!

If you're braving a vacation with teens in tow, we especially recommend Casa Joaquina. which has a downstairs game room/bedroom/hang-out-space with a pool table. and an X-box;

For business travelers. we have up-to-date information on conference centers, public transportation options, and our holiday rentals and vacation apartments are equipped with loaner laptop and cellphone (if needed). We can even loan you a printer, if you wish;

And for extended families travelling together for special occations, you can rent two or more houses as a group, which accommodates up to 23 people.

+ LISBON's Historic Preservation District

Our beautifully restored 19th-century vacation rental homes and holiday apartments graciously complement and enhance your stay in our beloved Lisbon. Tucked away on a quiet cobblestone street in Lisbon's Historic Preservation District, each property is perched conveniently above the city's vibrant center and a quick 3-8 minute walk down to the main plazas known as the Rossio and Pra�a dos Restauradores.

+ ALGARVE's Armona Island

Our holiday beach cottage on the pedestrian-only Armona Island enjoys a priviledged existence within the Ria Formosa Natural Park. The 15-minute ferry from Olh�o -- the Algarve's main fishing port -- is a perfect buffer between you and the Algarve crowds. (Armona Island, a closely-guarded national secret, is where the Portuguese go to escape the foreigners crowding the mainland Algarve beaches.)

Lisbon holiday apartments and vacation rentals are a great alternative to hotels. You'll have room to spread out enjoy our wide range of amenities. Since we live nearby, you'll also have the opportunity for a unique glimpse into the culture. what a great way to create memories that last a lifetime.

We are available to answer your questions and point out the local grocer and best caf�s. or not, if you prefer to explore on your own.

What's important is that you have your privacy and room to relax, while still being right in the center of town, as convenient as any hotel. (And more convenient than most!)
