Where can I take the Test?

You can attempt the NCLEX exam at any one of the Pearson Vue Test Centers, which are located in every State throughout the U.S. and worldwide. Each testing center has terminals available for candidates. A proctor will help you get started, administer and monitor security during the test.

When can I take the Test?

The exam is offered every day, Monday through Saturday, throughout the year. Make sure you are thoroughly prepared for the exam before you register an exam date. We recommend you begin studying as soon as possible, after you have decided to take the exam. Under no circumstances should you delay until you have your ATT. What is a Computerized Adaptive Test?

In the Computerized Adaptive Testing (CAT) method, Intelligent testing software selects the questions for you to answer. Most of the questions in the exam are multiple choice that can be viewed one at a time, but you will not be given the choice to go back to previous questions once you have submitted your answers. Items cannot be left unanswered. The CAT chooses test items based on your responses. The computer will adapt to your answers by selecting harder or easier questions for the next item. At the start of the exam, you will be provided with sample questions. After that, the test begins and an item of low or medium difficulty level may appear. Based on your reply, the CAT might give you an easier or tougher question. The CAT software estimates your capabilities based on your replies. After the scoring algorithm of the CAT software determines with 95% probability that you have achieved a minimum threshold score required to pass, it will pass you. How many questions are there in the Test?

The NCSBN test bank contains thousands of questions that have been assigned a level of difficulty as well as mapped to the NCLEX test plan. During the exam you will be asked a minimum of 75 questions or a maximum of 265. This could range between one hour and six hours. Each question has been assigned a level of difficulty.
