One of the main features of the building is the very large apartments which invariably feature very large ceilings. Built in 1884, the Dakota building is located on the northwest corner of 72nd Street and Central Park West on the Upper West Side.

The building is not short on history, that’s for sure, and there is a long list of prominent former residents who chose to call it home. These are not exactly what you would call cheap houses for sale. but they cater directly to a certain city market who want a little style, prestige and history with their day to day life. If you are serious about looking at Dakota Building New York apartments for sale, be prepared to be amazed at the experience. Even inspecting one of these prestigeous properties is not a simple task easily organized – please be prepared for an extended application process and a good wait. Also note that just as it was when the building first opened (all apartments were let on opening day), the Dakota Building continues to be incredibly popular and a very desirable building to call home.
