The Washington Navy Yard is the repurposed base of the United States Navy. After World War II, the Navy Yard was moved to another location. Some people choose to get rid of their cars when they move to Washington Navy Yard because of the crowded streets, and you may find freedom in walking or riding transit to work.

Navy Yard Schools & Education

The area is served by the Washington, D.C. public school system, but there are many private schools located in the city. The public school system is saddled with financial and staffing issues, but the private schools in the area do not carry such burdens. You should enroll your child in the school that you feel best fits their needs. Also, you may want to enroll your child in a public school that is closer to your place of employment. The many education options in the city give your children a chance to learn in a safe and comfortable environment.
