Just arrived home after a week staying at the Vista Sur Apartments, Tenerife. We stayed in a duplex apartment which consisted of a large living room and a very small kitchen. Upstairs there was a good size bedroom together with a large en-suite. The downstairs had a good size balcony whilst a smaller balcony was upstairs. There was also a small toilet on the lower floor. The place is very clean and well maintained.

I was offered a promotional stay and given a choice of places. We chose Vistasur on the basis of location and were not disappointed. Although I was promised a sea view when I booked the holiday we were not given one so paid £85 extra and was given the choice of 2. It was well worth the money.

Vistasur is right on the beach and right on the main strip between Los Cristianos and Playa plus an excellent supermarket is 5 minutes walk away. Los Cristianos old town is about 10 minutes walk along the sea front.

There were 4 adults plus a toddler on holiday in a 2 bedroom apartment with a shared bathroom. Our apartment was large, the living area was plenty big enough for us and opened on to the large double balcony. The kitchen area is basic but well enough equipped to do the sort of light cooking we tend to do on holiday. The master bedroom was large and airy with patio doors on to the balcony. The second bedroom was adequate. It faced out onto the hotel walkway and the front of other apartments. Not as nice as the other one but comfortable. At no time were we were disturbed by noise.

The balcony was a sun trap. It was fabulous to wake up to see the sun streaming in! It was furnished with 5 sunbeds, 2 tables and 4 chairs plus an airer for drying clothes etc. We spent most of the time when we were in the apartment on the balcony!

The bathroom was small but adequate - everything worked. Sometimes we had to wait for hot water at peak times otherwise not all 4 of us would get a hot shower.

The swimming pool is small but our toddler enjoyed playing in it and with the other little children there. 3 out of 4 of us swam in it but because the sea is a step away we actually preferred swimming there. There are comfy sunbeds around the pool which make a change from the balcony and the beach.

The hotel staff were delightful. They were so helpful attending to our every request cheerfully and most quickly. For instance we asked for a high chair, one was delivered within 10 minutes. We asked for a toaster in addition to the toasted sandwich maker in the flat - a toaster was delivered, again within minutes.

There are things that this small place does not provide eg there is no restaurant there are loads to choose from on the doorstep. No fitness centre, no room service. There was no microwave and the lounge seating was not very comfy.

However, I was so impressed with Vista Sur I would return and discussed that with the receptionist before we left. I have looked up the prices within a day of returning home.

I have given it a rating of 4 because it is excellent value for the market rent, type of accomodation provided and on the basis of location and experience.

Room Tip: Definitely pay the little extra and book a sea view. The rooms withour sea view overlook the little.
