Recommended Reviews for La Frontera Square Luxury Apartments

I've lived here for about 2 years. I agree with all of the positive reviews here. This is a great place to live.

Went to sign the lease today and was now told that their employee last week was also mistaken and that we must pay the $200 month to month premium on top of the crazy rent of over $1400 for the month of October.  So we are being charged over $1600 a month for their smallest apartment.    Their manager says there is nothing she can do for us since the rates are set by corporate.  We can either submit our 60 day notice today (and try to find a place to live for a month) or we must pay this rate.

After viewing the model apartment and asking the office team a number of questions we decided to move into these apartments and signed a five month lease.  Two of the questions I had asked before signing the lease was "our property is being moved through a company similar to PODS - is there going to be an issue in them dropping one of these containers in the parking lot for a few days since they do not provide an exact date for pickup?"  I was told that this would be fine and they pulled out a map and showed me where we could leave the container.  Another question I asked was "being that construction dates can slide, how much extra will we be charged to go month to month?"  I was told that she couldn't give me the exact price since it is based off of rent prices at the time of the renewal but generally it is around $150-$200.

Flash forward a month later and I call to confirm the delivery of the moving container and then call the office to inform them of when it will be in the parking lot.  I am told that they have no idea why I was told that would be okay because they do not allow any of those containers to be left for more than 24 hours.  I was quite upset about this being that we were a couple of weeks away from the cross country move and couldn't make other arrangements at this point.  Had I been told it wasn't a possibility I wouldn't have signed the lease.  I was told that the manager was in a meeting and would call me the next day.  I did receive a call and then was told that they would make arrangements to accommodate this request.

Second month I received a notice that we were short on our rent and must submit the payment immediately.  I had to call again and then wait for a manager to call me back to tell me that it was their mistake.

This month we get a notice about the renewal prices for our lease and unfortunately something we must do since the construction dates have, in fact, been delayed.  They want to charge $400 more a month to sign a one month lease plus another $200 a month should we not sign a lease within the sixty day notice and go month to month.  This is absolutely criminal and far above what they had told me before we signed the lease.  I called the office to inquire and I was told "I don't know why anyone would have told you any price for renewal since we have no idea what it will be until the system tells us at your renewal time".  Wow this is sounding familiar.  Who in their right mind would move into a place if they were told "you could be charged absolutely any amount to renew and we won't tell you what that is".  I can tell you that now have to pay well over $1400 for their smallest one bedroom apartment if we sign the one month lease and over $1600 to go month to month.  Absolute craziness. They take complete advantage of the fact that it is close to impossible to find another place to move into for a month and to move all of your possessions for that.

Combine that with the fact that our dishwasher puts out dirtier dishes than what we put in, our washer makes really loud thumping noises and doesn't clean clothes and we are consistently being kept up until the wee hours of the morning with noisy partying neighbors and it's a complete nightmare.  FYI: according to the office they do not give you an estimated timeline for maintenance to service your issue because it's all according to priority.  We waited over a week and heard nothing so I called and complained and someone finally showed up the next day.

When I told them that I would be letting people know how they operate with a negative review the response I got was "that's what people normally do when they're not happy".  Hmm.

Crappy bonus: when you call the office and choose the option for existing tenants the phone tells you no one is available and hangs up on you if they don't pick up within a minute or so. Read more
