I'm struggling to decide whether to make this review 3 or 4 stars.  Can we please do halfs?

In my previous 2 star review, I stated that when I first moved to Camden Midtown Atlanta I felt it had a lot of great merits  (the apartments themselves are beautiful. nice upgrades and spacious. the pool area and other common areas might or might not be clean and well tended to.  I've seen that vary depending on season and whether or not the maintenance crew is manned okay or understaffed), but I was very unhappy overall.  My main complaint was that management was not doing enough to prevent problems and ensure tenants feel safe and happy.   Since that time, I've met with the new Assistant Property Manager, Joslyn, and I've gotten the impression she genuinely wants things to improve, and that management is doing more behind the scenes to work towards making CMA a better place to live than we as tenants are aware of.   They're not there yet, but I feel better that they are trying.

Here's the feature that Camden properties offer that I didn't fully understand until recently.  If you're not happy in your apartment, you can break your lease and move to any other Camden apartment.   You have to give a set number of days notice and pay 15 days rent extra as a fee, but there's no new application fees or process, no new pet fees, no new security deposit.   So I decided on 4 stars over three, because when it comes down to it, if you see a Camden apartment that you really like, but then a few months later you realize you totally made the wrong choice, they will totally work with you to find a place that suits you better.  Maybe in the same complex on a different floor or different building, maybe across town in a totally different neighborhood.

A word of advice, because it helped me select the next Camden property to try out.  Ask to see a few months worth of entries from the online community bulletin board.  Realize that every place is going to have complainers no matter what, but decide if the complaints are about things that would truly bother you or if they're things you don't concern yourself with.   I chose to move to a different Camden property where there were a lot of complaints on the online community board, but mostly about not enough guest parking spots. Secondly, don't just take in the complaints. look at management response.   For many months at Camden Midtown Atlanta, we would all be complaining for pages and pages, with no response from management at all, or maybe an occasional "Thanks for your feedback".   I'm improving my star rating because since my last review, management has taken a more active role in communicating with us and acknowledging the problems that need to be addressed.
