#The London Apartments - Apartments - Atlanta, GA - Reviews - Photos

Recommended Reviews

I had a leak in my place very late at night and the lady on the phone couldn t tell me anything but the maintenance guy came about 20 mins later and was very helpful and did everything he could to help seeing the time it was.

I used to live here before it was called The London in 2012.  I m still paying for it.  They accepted a $63 check, and turned my account into collections.  This shady collection company has received my information to remove the account, yet this apartment community is no where.  Over 2 years, I have been trying to fight this.  This was the last of many complaints for this community.

27 check-ins

Renter beware! Prepare for a nickel and dime lifestyle with fifth class service given back to you! I think the staff really do try their best, but at the end of the day they re just not making the cut--by a long shot.

Average maintenance request completion time: 3-14 weeks (no joke). If you want maintenance requests completed before that, you ll have to hire an attorney. Again, that is not an exaggeration. If anything, it s an understatement.

Average reimbursement time: 5 months. If you had to pay for things (like hornet removal three hours after you moved in) or incurred costs because of something they didn t take care of in time, then prepare to wait to be reimbursed. You will probably be asked for the receipts three or four times because it kept getting lost and receive numerous phone calls asking what the receipts are for.

Every single week, there is a problem with the gate. Either someone drove through it, broke the arm or it s just wide open 24/7. We all paid $50 for the gate remote, and clearly this was just a fee for the sake of charging fees.

The few benefits of The London (which I ve renamed The Laos) are the very close proximity to pretty much everything you need (which is probably why they run this place like a $2 house of ill repute) and that some townhouses can be very nice--others are just plain old and dreadful. Also, most of the floorplans are fairly spacious and having a kitchen that s not practically inside the living room is a nice throwback.

The noise transmission from unit to unit is pretty bad. Average conversations can be heard through the bedroom and bathroom walls. My one neighbor has what sounds like 50 children and they all enjoy running up and down the stairs when they get home from school. I know them, so I don t mind. That s another nice part. the neighbors (at least on the townhouse side) are great people. But we all pretty much have the same gripe: The office and its responsiveness sucks! We all refer to living at The Laos as doing time .

With that in mind. The townhouse side of the complex is definitely more peaceful and has a, in my opinion, much better mix of people than the apartment side. The few apartments I ve visited haven t made a good impression on me. One building felt like subterranean North Korea whereas another made me feel like I was in Dunwoody Public Housing.

Enforcement of various things inside the office are prison-like. This is because The Lon--I mean--The Laos suffers from a lot of bad apples and they have resorted to a zero tolerance policy on every single thing. This includes: Charging daily late fees on a balance of $10 and threatening to file with DeKalb County courts after giving you a 12 hour notice.

The current assistant manager (first name starts with a D) is a person that will lie through her teeth to your face all while pretending to be articulate and friendly. If you have to deal with her, keep that in mind!

Some of the office ladies are friendly and try their best to do their job, but many things end at a stalemate. You will notice that the ones that are good at their jobs will eventually leave to go elsewhere. This has happened to quite a few of the leasing consultants. The Lond--The Laos has a very high turnover rate.

My neighbors refer to this place as a place to serve time which is in keeping with the prison theme going on here. Although a prison would have better gates.

I have honestly tried to work with the management (even the corporate office in Los Angeles) to no avail.  The regional property manager is a nice lady but in my opinion is way overworked and disorganized as a result of.

The trash situation is absolutely putrid. And even nastier is the garbage situation in the apartment buildings. The numerous photos from Yelp users were removed by JRK Residential. We re talking rats, garbage piles that would dwarf Honey Boo Boo s mom and oozing liquids that would make a local mad strangler want to vomit.

Seriously, if I hadn t paid an arm and a leg for United to move me, I d have broken this lease in the first week! I had hornets in the garage that I had to remove myself on the very first day as well as a host of other problems ranging from a missing smoke detector here and there to light fixtures that were haphazardly installed and not to mention the missing door lock on the door leading in from the garage.

While you might seriously think this is your only option, it isn t. And you might be in the same situation as me--rushed--don t be. Take an extra day or two to find another place if you re looking for a more trouble-free and headache-free lifestyle.

The Laos is not the place if you re expecting first class service.  They call it luxury. I call it. The Laos.

Doubt this is a coincidence.
