Buy-to-Let Properties Many people may think that Liverpool’s heyday was back in the sixties when The Beatles were top of the charts, but recent and future events will restore Liverpool as one of Britain’s most important and exciting cities. The amount of public and private investment flooding into Liverpool makes startling reading for those not familiar with the city. The principal reason for the rate is that Liverpool has been awarded the prestigious title of European City of Culture 2008. Examples are already taking place: the Merseyside Waterfront regional park has seen over Ј60 million enter the city, and the National Biomanufacturing Centre has received a further Ј25 million 1 . This influx of jobs and investment, together with a direct air link between London and Liverpool, has helped make Liverpool John Lennon airport the fastest growing in Britain, with over eight million passengers last year. The Merseytram network 2. which will go into construction this year once formal approval has been granted, will provide a big boost to property prices as commuting becomes much easier. Current estimates are that an extra 14,000 jobs and Ј2 billion of investment will take place over the next four years that will put Liverpool back on the map on an international scale.
