First of all there are different opinions evaluating the actions of daughters of Lot. In the Talmud it s considered a kind of mitzvah, (Nazir 24a Baba, Kama 38b, Horayot 11a). Of course they were ashamed and therefore did not openly ask Lot to have relations with them. In general their actions can maybe be compared to an aveira leshem Shamaim (a sin for the sake of Heaven).

By the way Rashi says when Eliezer tells Lavan if they won t let Rivka come with him he will go right or left, he was considering daughters of Lot as eligible partners for Yitzchak.

At any rate in Bereshit Rabbah there is a dispute if the actions of Lot s daughters were commendable.

Rashi followed the opinion of R. Simon in Bereshit Rabbah that it was znut of sorts, see Maharsha Bava Kama 38b and R. Elyahu Mizrahi s comments on Rashi. Other commentaries suggest that either there was both element of mitzvah and sin (Gur Arye) or that the sin was not the relations but that they did not ask Lot to marry them legally (R. Yissachar Dov Eilenburg author of Beer Sheva).

Note that in general it’s common that Rashi seems to bring conflicting opinions in his commentary and the super-commentators often argue how to explain what he meant.

Also note that it s not clear the daughters of Lot thought there is no one left in the whole world, but some explain that there was no one left who could marry them where they lived .
