YOUR MAMA’S NOTES: A Sunset Strip house owned by top-earning Tinseltowner Sandra Bullock has come up for lease, we first heard word from the PR gal at Trulia. with a monthly rent of $18,500. Property records show Miz Bullock purchased the walled, gated and security enhanced residence in January 2001 for $1.485 million, and current listing details show the California contemporary has three bedrooms, including a “very sexy Master with soaking tub and separate steam shower” and three bathrooms in 3,153 square feet.

Online marketing materials indicate the essentially single-story abode — at least one of the bedrooms has a sleeping loft, per marketing materials — was originally built in the early 1940s and contains a living room with vaulted ceiling and fireplace, an eat-in kitchen with another fireplace, and an den/office with built-ins. The back of the house opens to a private stone tiled terrace, swimming pool, spa and lanai with “some city views.”

The much decorated movie star — she has an Oscar, a Golden Globe, an MTV Movie Award, numerous Teen Choice and People’s Choice awards, a couple of Screen Actors Guild Awards, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and, just for balance, a pair of Razzies — maintains one of Hollywood’s most impressive property portfolios. In 2011, the famously well-compensated actress, who reportedly raked in an estimated $51 million between June 2013 and June 2014, dropped $16.19 million for a 4.1-acre Beverly Hills estate with an 8,000-plus-square-foot Tudor mansion. The property, originally part of a larger estate where a funicular connected the main house to the tennis court and entertainment pavilion, was previously owned by Marlo Thomas, David Geffen, (radio tycoon) Norm Pattiz, (Hard Rock Café co-founder and investor) Peter Morton and, finally, Texas-born private investor Reagan Silber. It was here, at her BevHills estate, where last year an especially intrepid and moronic intruder managed to slip past her security apparatus and enter the mansion through a locked sunroom door. Miz Bullock, according recent reports. was awakened and hid in a locked closet behind a locked safe door until the police arrived and apprehended the man. The case is currently making its way through the courts, and this property gossip expects — and hopes — the intruder will have the proverbial book thrown at him.

Anyways, Miz Bullock also keeps an ornate Victorian mansion in New Orleans she bought in June 2009 for $2.25 million and, as far as we can tell, she continues to own at least half a dozen investment properties in Austin, Texas, including a 5.81-acre multi-residence compound on the Colorado River. Then there’s a townhouse in New York City’s Greenwich Village she snatched up in early 2000 for $3.35 million; a two-parcel spread in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, with a modestly sized residence on 5.53 acres; and a raised plantation house on Georgia’s Tybee Island that she acquired in 2001 for $1.495 million.

Other celebs and showbiz types who own but don’t necessarily occupy homes in the immediate vicinity include Cameron Diaz, Stuart Cornfeld, Johnny Galecki — whose house was previously owned by Patrick Dempsey, Jimmy Kimmel and John Krasinski and Emily Blunt.
