Peak tourist season in Ibiza runs from May through to October, while the clubbing season runs from June until the legendary closing parties in September. Many bars, clubs and restaurants close over winter, but it’s a great time to explore the island without the hordes of tourists.

Four million tourists enter Ibiza each year via its only airport, Aeroport d’Eivissa. Located 7km southwest of the capital, you’ll find direct flights here from a host of European cities. Buses from the airport to the island’s centre operate every half hour in peak season. Once you arrive, four bus companies service difference parts of the island, but if you’re really planning to explore, you might want to consider hiring a car or motorcycle.
