Recommended Reviews for Magnolia Ranch
Just left this apartment after a full year (plus 2 months) of lease, I think I can fully summarize a couple of things: Pros: - Notifications: If management is planning on doing something (anything) to your building, your area, or not even your area, they'll let you know. They'll let you know by email, by a note on your door, and even text message. - Updates from new management: So earlier this year, a new management took over ownership of these apartments and the resulting changes are great! Recently vacanted apartments have received kitchen upgrades, all (most? reading some reviews. ) apartments have upgraded toilets, new dog park, upgrades to the pool, stripping/painting of parking lots, new lights/fan fixtures, and valet trash. - Rent: It's cheap for McKinney. one bedroom was a little less than $800 for me and with water, pest, trash, cable fees, my monthly total was about $850. - Parking: 95% covered parking, all free. It's pretty difficult to find a parking spot NOT in front of your building. And if you can't find one, the most you have to walk is 50 ft. - Location: At the corner of 75 and Eldorado, it's super convenient to get on 75 or 121 and everything you need is a short drive away. - Packages: Large packages are often dropped off at the front office instead of your door. You'll get a notice on your door or in your mailbox to pick it up from the office. Never had an issue with it, even during the holidays. When I ordered a huge piece of furniture and it was dropped off at the office, maintenance was able to deliver it to my apartment the next day. Cons: - Cable: Cable of $40 is added to your rent, no matter what. I don't have a TV (who needs TV when you have internet. ) so this wasn't a great deal for me. At all. - Maintenance: I didn't have much trouble with my apartment at all, but the little issues that I did have took forever to fix. My issue? Light bulbs keep burning out. And it took me 3 service requests and a trip to the management office to get two light bulbs replaced. - Fitness Center: pro is that with a keycard, it's 24-hour access. Con is the maintenance on the equipment. While the space is large, some of the equipment have crooked bars or missing pieces. The place could use an upgrade. Not sure on the actual difference between Phase 1 and Phase 2. When I first moved in, I asked about it, and the associates couldn't really tell me a difference. Rent changes: 12-month renewal was about $50 monthly increase ($850). 6-month renewal was about $950. Month-to-month rent was about $1200.
