Apartment reviews somehow always turn out to be all over the place, I suppose given the variable nature of apartment life (neighbors, your own lifestyle and preferences, etc.), so I m going to have to provide a counterpoint to the below reviews.

My roommate and I spent a little over 2 years at Village Green (just moved away), and I can say we really appreciated our time.

Location was great for many reasons. The neighborhood is really nice - great place for running, with a lot of opportunities for people-watching. Very classically surburban - little leaguers on the weekends, folks walking their dogs, very kid-friendly, if that s your bag. Also really close to all the essentials - grocery stores, post office, tennis courts, parks, restaurants, etc. Easy access to both Lawrence and San Tomas.

Also a bit selling point in the Bay Area - the rent is very reasonable. Our two bedroom apartment was sufficiently large, and had a rate that was equivalent to some one bedroom apartments in the area. No outrageous rent hikes either, which was very appreciated.

As with any apartment, noise is always going to be hit and miss depending on one s neighbors. In general, I felt our neighbors were all very down to earth folks - quite a lot of families. Pretty quiet in general.

Apartment servicing was great - responded to maintenance requests very quickly - within a couple of days. Fixed quite a few things for us during our time there - no questions asked.

Overall, a great first apartment experience, and Courtney was a pleasure to work with. Very reasonable, accommodating, and down to earth.

By the way, not sure what the previous review s mention of fire alarms and vandalism was referring to. If I recollect correctly, I ve never once actually heard the fire alarm, and have never heard anything from the other residents regarding vandalism - certainly our cars were perfectly fine.
