Austin is the capital of Texas and the seat of Travis County. It's the 4th largest city in Texas and the 14th most populous metropolitan area in the United States. Top Neighborhoods

Hyde Park is a neighborhood in Central Austin, located just north of The University of Texas and listed in the National Register of Historic Places. With its tree-shaded streets and unique Austin businesses serving the neighborhood, it is an address many residents of Austin would love to have. In recent years, Hyde Park has been revitalized. Residents are served by the Austin Independent School District. Despite being more heavily populated, Hyde Park maintains the town center feel from ages ago.

Travis Heights is a historic neighborhood. Travis Heights has been popular almost since its inception. There are a variety of housing options in the area. Travis Heights has public transportation readily available. The community is served by both private and public schools. The history balanced against the urban influence make Travis Heights a desirable place to live.

Downtown Austin has developed over the past couple of years, at an unbelievable rate. Downtown is where the city's high rise buildings are located, as well as being the center of government and business for the region. Downtown Austin is expanding and the residential options are increasing. The cost of real estate might be the highest in Austin, but residents live within walking distance of everything they need. Allandale is a neighborhood in the Austin area. Allandale has great proximity to many larger communities including the downtown area. The housing stock in Allandale meets the needs of most people looking to buy or rent. The rental price points are comparative to other areas of the same size in the Austin area. Public transportation is easy to access. The school options for families are great. Allandale is a wonderful place to live in the Austin area.

Tarrytown is neighborhood that could easily be called Austin’s most prestigious neighborhood. Tarrytown is the area bounded by 35th street in the North, Enfield in the South, MoPac in the East and Lake Austin on the West. A large part of the area’s appeal comes from its one-of-a-kind location; mere minutes from the heart of downtown. At the same time, Tarrytown's numerous architectural finds in quiet and pristine neighborhoods are generously surrounded by the lush foliage from large shade trees giving off a feeling of seclusion, and a peaceful departure from the nearby cityscape. Houses in this neighborhood tend to be very well groomed and extremely decorative. Properties are some of the most expensive in Austin, but the quality of living is without question. Tarrytown does have many apartments, small condos and duplexes for rent.

Clarksville is neighborhood in Austin north of West Sixth Street and East of MoPac. This neighborhood is the closest to the downtown district with the only separation being Lamar Boulevard. Homes in Clarksville are relatively high for Central Austin because of its close proximity to Mopac and downtown. Clarksville has significant ties to freeing slaves post civil war. The historic atmosphere and cultural diversity in the community make it a nice place to live.
